Did you know ?
This recipe is inspired by the shepherd’s pie a traditional family meal in many countries. The Shepherd’s Pie was created by French pharmacist Antoine Augustin Parmentier in order to fight famine rampant at the time. After a trip to Ireland, Parmentier discovered the potato and its medicinal virtues. Following an audience with King Louis XVI , Parmentier created Shepherd’s Pie by combining meat, potatoes and sauce.
Potato, even without the peel remains an excellent source of Vitamin B6, also known as “pyridoxine”. This vitamin helps convert food molecules, such as carbohydrates or sugars into a source of energy for the body.
