The term “lamb” actually means young sheep that is not yet weaned, but in practice, it’s an animal aged less than one year. This animal has been domesticated for a long time, probably just after the dog and the goat, but before the cow and the horse. It is widely believe the modern sheep ancestor is the Asian mouflon or big horn.
Lamb is a red meat and contains important amounts of iron. Iron is one on the main building blocks of hemoglobin or red blood cells.
