The strawberry is native to Asia, Europe and America. On these three continents there are close to 35 different species of strawberries reflecting the diversity of climates and eco-systems. The strawberry and its seeds were most probably transported by birds over great distances.
Even frozen, strawberries are an excellent source of vitamin C. Also known as “ascorbic acid” it helps the body make collagen, the main component of bones and skin.
